Slab - Photography Inspiration

I wanted to get a look at how other people have photographed their work, concerning chocolate that is and various other packaging photography. It's not an area I'm all to familiar with, however If i can figure out how they've photographed them, It'll help me discover in my own why what would be the best way to photograph the products for slab.

I think something like this [above] is probably not going to work, and rather the below is possibly the better alternative. Because of what we have, packaging instead of boxes and containers. This makes it difficult to really get an establishing product shot such as this since some things work laying down better. Having them standing up gives a different idea to what they are really.

A context shot like this would be more appropriate than the product shot that I commented on above, showing how the consumer would handle them rather then showing what they all look like together and instead how they fit into the world.

Similar to Anona, and Hotel Chocolat, the decoration at the edges of the photographs help create the feel and reinforce the concept of something luxurious, through selective placement. Too much and it'd be messy, but creating an environment which looks like a happy accident is the way to go.
