Capital North - Applicaton, Visual and Inspiration

I collected a selection of images that I thought would be great inspiration for the following:

  • Graphic application
  • Colour swatch
  • Logo concepts
These where the key areas we wanted to research into, we wanted something that was eye catching and clever but still reinforced the core concept of unity.

These two logos are great uses of negative spaces for a cause, especially the save water logo. It's clever and the concept doesn't need any extra thought it's getting across immediately what it's about. However I don't know why they use the letter A when it's called save water.

We had the idea that the logo should use negative space to try and include elements such as an arrow to point north or convey a concept relating to the logo. These examples are beautiful uses of negative space.

Excellent colour combinations, I love the vibrant and eye catching, something like this would be perfect for Capital North. It needs to be without any links to the cities, but representative still.

The London 2012 Olympic is a well-designed example of the application of graphics, such as on a taxi and plane. Places, which would have the most interaction as well as places, which add little details. The mix between the both is a great balance and what we aim to achieve with Capital North.
